As a part of celebrating 32nd
World Tourism Day, Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) together with
Association for Tourism on Monday organized a clean-up program in Thamel – a popular
tourist hotspot in the capital.
About 80 percent of the tourists
that come to Nepal visit Thamel at least once. The small area is home to more
than 2,000 tourism service providers.
About 100 participants comprising
of TAAN executive committee members, TAAN member agencies, tourism entrepreneurs
and Thamel locals were present in the program.
TAAN is unveiling four new
trekking trails on Tuesday on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The new trails
to be launched on the day are: Nagi-Narchyang (Myagdi-Parbat), Dhorpatan
(Myagdi-Baglung), Panchpokhari (Sindhupalchowk) and Lower Solu.
TAAN has been celebrating World Tourism
Day every year by organizing different programs. Last year, it had organized a
hiking cum essay competition for college students at Balthali village of Kavre.
