Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has requested Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS) to ease distribution of fuel to trekking agencies.
Submitting a memorandum to MoCS, the delegation led by TAAN President Chandra Prasad Rijal requested the ministry to designate a petrol pump for distribution of petrol and diesel to tourism vehicles (with green number plates), and dealer for distribution of kerosene and LP gas to trekking agencies.
The memorandum addressed to Minister for Commerce and Supplies Ganesh Man Pun also requested the ministry to provide coupons to TAAN for distribution of kerosene and LP gas to its member agencies based on the number of groups handled by them.
Receiving the memorandum, Minister Pun's personal assistant Arjun Pathak said he would apprise Minister Pun of the problem being faced by the tourism sector due to fuel shortage. "I am sure that Minister Pun will do the needful as he is aware of the problems faced by tourism industry," he added.
