A two-day 'Scenario-based First Aid Training and First Aid Management in Rural Areas' for trekking guides kicked off at Balaju Garden in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) is organizing the training to enhance professionalism of trekking guides and make them capable enough to provide first aid to trekkers in case of medical emergencies.
Altogether 30 trekking guides from different trekking companies of TAAN are participating in the training.
First Aid Instructor Mr Graham Frith and Advanced Paramedics Mrs Juliet Firtzpatrick and Mr Steve Price are facilitating the training. Mr Firth has been teaching first aid and outdoor first aid for the past 12 years.
The participants are being taught to make best use of available resources in case of medical emergencies. The training is being organized in Balaju Garden so that the participants can feel the real scenario.
TAAN General Secretary Sagar Pandey, HR and Training Coordinator Dhan Prasad Gurung and Executive Member Palsang Tamang were present on the occasion.
The training will conclude on Thursday.
TAAN has been organizing different trainings to enhance professionalism of employees working with its member agencies. It recently organized Trekking Guide Training, Search Engine Optimization Training, and Photography and News Reporting Training for employees of its member companies.
