The government is celebrating 100th week of Bagmati Clean-up Campaign by preparing 'human chains' on both sides of Bagmati River -- from Sundarijal to Chobhar – this Saturday (April 11).
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has requested different travel trade associations to show solidarity with the campaign by participating in the program. The government has allocated Jambo Danda-Gaurighat section of the holy river for tourism professionals.
Bagmati Clean-up Campaign was started nearly two years ago at the initiation of Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal. Different government agencies, non-government organizations, professional bodies, security agencies, among others, are actively involved in the clean-up program.
