Acharya appointed tourism minister

Bhim Prasad Acharya has been appointed as the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.


He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on February 25. Acharya was elected Constituent Assembly (CA) from Constituency No 6 of Sunsari from CPN-UML.


Born on April 27, 1959 in Toliya-6 of Dhankuta, Acharya holds Master's Degree in management faculty. He joined students’ movement in 1975 while his active political career began when he joined the then CPN-ML in 1979.


Acharya is a central committee member of CPN-UML. He was the Chief Whip of CPN-UML in the Parliamentary Party of CPN-UML in the previous parliament.
